Mentoring Packages
Not every experienced software developer needs the same kind of support.
Some people want to get clearer about where to take their career next and what they need to do to get there. Others already know their direction but need to develop specific skills and regularly review how well they're applying them at work. And some face challenges that make a much more intensive collaboration worthwhile.
That's why I offer three mentoring packages: Lite, Core and Elite.
With all three, we work with your goals and real situations from your job. I draw on my experience in software development, architecture and leading teams. The main differences between the packages are their focus, duration and intensity of support.
Quick Comparison
| Lite | Core | Elite | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Focus | Career direction and development plan | Developing skills and applying them in practice | Intensive individual support during a demanding career transition |
| Number of sessions | 6 | 20 | No fixed number agreed in advance |
| Typical duration | Around 3 months | Around 6 months | Around 12 months |
| Meeting frequency | Flexible, depending on your needs | Usually weekly at first, then every two weeks | Flexible, depending on your situation |
| Responses between sessions | Within 48 hours | Within 24 hours | Highest priority, as quickly as availability allows |
| Price | CZK 18,000 | CZK 60,000 | CZK 500,000 |
These durations are approximate. If you need more time to try certain things in practice, we don't have to end our cooperation after exactly three, six or twelve months.
Lite
Get clear on your direction and build a plan you can follow
6 sessions | Around 3 months | CZK 18,000
You've spent several years working in software development and you're thinking about where to go next.
Maybe you're interested in software architecture, leading a technical team or moving into management. Maybe you want to stay in a technical role but take on more responsibility and have more influence over decisions. Or perhaps you're not yet sure which path would suit you best.
In Lite, we'll look at what you expect from your next career step, what options you have and what each path would actually involve.
We'll go through your experience and skills so far. We'll identify what you can already do, what you need to develop and what makes sense to focus on now.
Based on that, we'll build a development plan that fits not only your goal but also the time and energy you can realistically put into it.
What could this look like in practice?
For example, you might be considering moving into a software architect role, but you're not sure whether it's the right direction for you or what you should start doing to get there.
We'll discuss what an architect actually does, how the role differs from your current position and what experience or skills you'll need. Together, we'll choose a few priorities and turn them into concrete steps.
The goal isn't to plan the next several years of your career perfectly. What matters is understanding why you're heading in a particular direction and what you can start doing now.
Support between sessions
Between sessions, you can work with your development plan, use materials in the Client Zone and try the steps we've agreed on in practice.
If you need clarification, a further explanation or advice on a smaller issue, you can message me. I normally respond within 48 hours.
We usually leave broader topics that require more discussion or a longer explanation for our next session.
Lite is a good fit if you want to clarify your next career direction and get a plan you can continue following independently.
Core
Develop the skills you'll actually need in your next role
20 sessions | Around 6 months | CZK 60,000
You may already know where you want to go. Or we may be able to clarify that fairly quickly.
But deciding on a direction isn't enough on its own.
If you want to become a software architect, tech lead or manager, you also need to develop the skills that will help you perform well in that role.
And you usually won't develop those skills just by reading about them.
You need to practise them in real situations, make decisions, communicate with others, take responsibility and review what works.
That's what Core focuses on.
How will we work together?
We'll start by clarifying your direction and creating a development plan. Then we'll gradually focus on the skills you need for your next career step.
These might include communicating technical decisions, taking ownership, leading discussions, managing other people's expectations or looking at problems in a broader context.
During our sessions, we'll discuss specific situations from your work. I'll share my experience, explain how I would think about the problem, and together we'll decide what you could try differently.
Between sessions, you'll put what you've learned into practice.
At our next session, we'll look at what worked, what didn't and why. Then we'll adjust the next steps accordingly.
What could this look like in practice?
For example, you want to start taking more responsibility for technical decisions. But when you present your ideas to others, you don't always manage to explain clearly enough why you believe your proposal makes sense.
We won't stop at general advice to improve your communication.
We'll look at a specific situation. We'll discuss your proposal, prepare your arguments, try to see the problem from the other participants' perspectives and identify what you could do differently next time.
Then you'll try it.
At our next session, we'll discuss how the conversation went, what worked and what you can learn from it.
We can follow a similar process with other skills you need to develop. It's not just about knowing what you should do. What matters is learning to apply it in your actual work.
How often will we meet?
At the beginning, we usually meet once a week. This helps us understand your situation, create a plan and establish a regular rhythm.
After approximately three months, we generally move to one session every two weeks. That gives you more time between sessions to try new things in practice.
We'll adjust the actual schedule to your situation and availability.
Support between sessions
If you need clarification or advice, you don't have to wait until our next session.
You can message me with questions or smaller situations that come up as you work on your development. I normally respond within 24 hours.
If a topic is more involved or would be better discussed together, we'll set aside time for it during a session.
Core is a good fit if you want to work systematically on your career development, with regular support, practical assignments and feedback.
Elite
When you need support while dealing with demanding situations
Intensive individual cooperation | Around 12 months | CZK 500,000
Elite is for someone who needs more than the usual rhythm of mentoring sessions.
You might be preparing for a major career step, taking responsibility for an important project or starting in a role that requires decisions and skills you haven't had much experience with yet.
In situations like these, meeting once a week or every two weeks may not be enough.
Sometimes you need to discuss a problem before an important meeting. Other times you want to prepare a technical proposal together or get an experienced perspective on a decision you need to make that same day.
And sometimes it's more useful not just to review a situation afterwards, but for me to be directly involved while you're preparing for it or dealing with it.
That's what makes Elite different from the other packages.
How involved can I be?
With Elite, we don't have to limit our cooperation to regular one-hour sessions.
Depending on what you're working on and what we agree, we can, for example:
- Prepare important technical decisions, proposals, presentations or meetings together.
- Work on specific problems from your professional environment.
- Discuss difficult situations and find ways to handle them.
- Prepare intensively for a new role and work through situations as they arise.
- Discuss problems as they come up when something important changes and you need to make a decision.
- Create work materials together, or agree that I'll prepare some parts for you directly, if that helps you understand the approach and move forward.
If it makes sense and your employer allows it, I can also come to your workplace.
We can work side by side, look at specific situations in the environment where they happen, or prepare for important events at work.
And if you need more intensive support during a particular period, we can speak on the phone several times a day, depending on the situation and our mutual availability.
So the difference isn't just the number of sessions. We can work together while problems are actually unfolding, when my experience may be most useful to you.
What could this look like in practice?
Imagine you've just taken responsibility for the architecture of an important project.
You're facing a decision that will affect the work of other teams. You need to consider the technical options, prepare supporting materials and explain your proposal to people who see the problem from different perspectives.
With regular mentoring, we might prepare for a situation like this during one session and review how it went at the next.
With Elite, we can go into much more detail.
We can walk through the proposal together, look for weaknesses in the arguments, prepare materials and think through the questions that are likely to come up.
I can show you how I would approach a particular part of the work. We can create something together, or we might agree that I'll prepare some of the materials myself and then explain my approach and decisions to you.
If a new complication comes up before the meeting, we can discuss it, depending on my availability.
And after the meeting, we'll return to what happened. We'll discuss why others reacted as they did, what went well and what you could do differently next time.
We can work in a similar way when you're leading a team, communicating with management, resolving disagreements about technical decisions or taking on greater responsibility.
The point isn't for me to do your job for you in the long term. I want to help you handle demanding situations while developing your own skills, so that over time you can solve similar problems independently.
How do sessions and availability work?
Elite doesn't have a fixed number of sessions agreed in advance.
We can meet as needed. During more intensive periods, that may mean several sessions a week, although in practice it's usually no more than approximately three.
We can also use shorter calls and communicate between sessions.
Your questions and requests receive my highest priority. I aim to respond as quickly as possible when I'm available.
That doesn't mean being permanently on call or guaranteeing availability at any hour of the day or night. It means a much more flexible and intensive cooperation than Lite or Core.
We'll agree in advance on how we'll work together, communicate and, if appropriate, involve me directly at your workplace. The arrangement needs to work for both of us and respect your employer's rules and confidentiality requirements.
Who is Elite for?
For someone going through an important period in their career who needs more than regular mentoring sessions.
For someone prepared to put considerable effort into their development and who wants to be able to draw on an experienced mentor's perspective while dealing with real challenges at work.
Elite isn't automatically a better choice than Core. It offers a different level of cooperation, and that needs to make sense for your situation.
That's why, before recommending this package, I'd want to talk with you in detail about your situation, expectations and how we could work together.
What's included in all packages?
Individual approach
I don't follow a fixed course that everyone has to complete in the same order.
I use a mentoring Framework that helps structure career development. But we adapt the topics and their order to your goals, experience and real situations from work.
My experience and practical recommendations
Mentoring with me isn't just about asking questions so you have to figure everything out on your own.
When it's useful, I'll tell you how I would think about a situation, what similar problems I've dealt with and what options or risks I see.
The final decisions, however, remain yours.
Client Zone
You'll get access to the Client Zone, where you'll find materials for your development, the mentoring Framework, summaries of our sessions and the option to book further appointments.
If we agree to record our sessions, you'll be able to return to the recordings later and revisit specific questions, explanations or recommendations.
Online or in-person sessions
A regular mentoring session lasts approximately one hour.
We can meet online or in person in Prague. For in-person sessions, we usually arrange to meet in a café or go for a walk, depending on what's suitable for the topic.
With Elite, we can also agree on other forms of cooperation.
Support between sessions
You can ask follow-up questions or bring up smaller problems as they arise. You don't have to wait until our next session.
The scope of support and response times depend on your package. If a topic requires more substantial work together, we'll agree on when and how best to discuss it.
How do you know which package is right for you?
You don't have to decide based only on the number of sessions or the price.
We'll start with a free introductory consultation, which usually lasts 30 to 60 minutes.
We'll discuss your current situation, goals and what kind of support you actually need.
If we find that mentoring could be useful to you, I'll recommend a suitable package and explain why.
Sometimes Lite will be enough. In other cases, Core will make more sense from the beginning. And only in certain situations will Elite be the right choice.
I'm not trying to recommend the most expensive package. I want the level of cooperation to match what you need.
After the consultation, you'll have time to decide whether you want to continue. You don't have to give me an answer during the call.
How does payment work?
The introductory consultation is free and comes with no obligation.
If we agree on paid cooperation, you pay for the package in advance, before our first paid session. The full package is paid at once; I don't currently offer instalments.
